Small Bronze Sphere
Small Bronze Sphere
Each Bronze sculpture is created by hand weaving with wax lengths to create the spherical sculpture. The wax sculpture is then transported to Pangolin Editions foundry to be transformed into bronze using the lost wax technique.
This new sculpture is totally unique and the first of its kind, it can't be replicated or moulded ensuring each piece is a one off.
In 2013 she successfully produced the first large scale cast spherical bronze with the help of Arts Council. It was showcased at the 100th Chelsea Flower show then at the University of Leicester’s Botanical Gardens and now proudly sits within the World Heritage Site, the Derwent Valley in Derbyshire, the birth place of the Industrial Revolution.
Rachel continues her research and development of this new method of direct casting.
